Strengthening Climate Friendly Agri-business Development in Lao PDR and Thailand

This project is the Asian Development Bank (ADB) technical assistance [TA-8163 REG: Implementing the Greater Mekong Subregion Core Agriculture Support Program (Phase 2)]. It is designed to enhance existing and emerging value chains and market access for environmentally friendly agricultural products produced by smallholders in the GMS. The project was designed with an overall objective to promote private sector development by designing viable business models for scaling up as potential investment projects through increased adoption of gender responsive and environmentally friendly agriculture in Lao PDR and Thailand.

ENF’s main tasks are to support the increased adoption of gender-responsive and climate friendly agriculture by developing capacity and implementing innovative PPP modalities for scaling-up investment. ENF is expected to work on enhancing existing and/or emerging value-chains to provide cross-border market linkages to small-scale farmers of climate-friendly agriculture products. ENF will work in close collaboration with public and private agencies to develop and implement at least two (2) innovative public private partnership (PPP) modalities for scaling up investment on climate-friendly agriculture in Lao PDR and Thailand. The two proposed pilots will support no less than 300 farmers and will provide gender-sensitive capacity building to enhance export capacity of climate-friendly agri-product for at least 10 persons in each country.
