The book consists of two parts. The first section has 5 chapters on general issues regarding fair trade, including introductions to fair trade, world trade, producers, consumers and private companies. The second section has 4 chapters focussing on specific products, i.e. handicrafts, coffee, rice and cotton/textiles.
The book explores the reasons for success but also the new challenges of fair trade. It is written from a fair trade perspective and providing information on (fair) trade between North and South, based to a significant extent on the trading experiences of actors involved in fair trade.
